💡 Tip: Walk at a steady pace and stay hydrated. Today’s altitude gain is significant, so avoid rushing to allow your body to acclimatize properly.
After an early breakfast in Gangotri, the trek begins with a gentle ascent along the Bhagirathi River valley. The trail winds through coniferous pine forests, with glimpses of snowy peaks appearing between the tall trees. Within a few hours, you’ll reach Chirbasa (3,580 m)—aptly named the “home of pines”—where you can take a short rest and enjoy the panoramic views.

As you leave the moraine behind, the trail gradually eases into more familiar paths lined with birch and pine, leading back towards the valley floor. With every step, the landscape transforms from rugged alpine to the welcoming greenery of Bhojwasa (3,775 m / 12,385 ft).
Arrive at Bhojwasa by afternoon, where the Bhagirathi River flows gently and the surroundings feel calm after the rugged days higher up. This is the perfect spot to relax, enjoy hot meals, and reflect on the incredible experiences of Gaumukh, Tapovan, Nandanvan, and Vasuki Tal.

The climb can be challenging due to altitude, but the breathtaking surroundings make it deeply rewarding.
As you ascend, the majestic peaks of Shivling (6,543 m), Bhagirathi I–III, and Meru dominate the skyline, while Vasuki Parbat (6,792 m) towers closer to the trail. After 3–4 hours of trekking, you’ll reach the shimmering Vasuki Tal, a glacial lake set amidst stark mountain cliffs. Known for its pristine waters and sacred aura, this lake is a jewel of the Garhwal Himalayas.
Spend time soaking in the views and the serenity of this high-altitude lake before retracing your steps back to Nandanvan. The return journey provides a fresh perspective of the glacier and meadows, completing a truly unforgettable excursion.
🏕 Stay: Tent (3 trekkers per tent)
🍲 Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Evening Snacks, Dinner
🔆 Highlights of the day:
💡 Tip: Trek carefully on the initial descent over glacial moraine — use trekking poles for stability.
Today’s journey begins with a descent from Nandanvan’s alpine meadow, where the mighty Shivling and Bhagirathi peaks stand tall behind you. The initial section involves navigating glacial moraine and rocky stretches along the Gangotri Glacier, requiring balance and steady footing.
🏕 Stay: Tent (3 trekkers per tent)
🍲Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Evening Snacks, Dinner
🔆 Highlights of the day:
💡 Tip: Start early from Bhojwasa to reach Gangotri by afternoon, giving you time for temple darshan and a relaxed evening in the holy town.
Wake up in Bhojwasa, your last morning amidst the high-altitude silence of the Gangotri National Park. After breakfast, begin the descent back to Gangotri. The route retraces the same trail, but descending allows you to notice fresh details—lush forests, flowing streams, and panoramic mountain views.
The trek initially follows the river, offering several scenic halts. After around 2 hours, you’ll cross Chirbasa (3,560 m / 11,680 ft.), known for its dense pine and birch trees. The walk from here is gentler, weaving through valleys and offering glimpses of grazing meadows and cascading waterfalls.
As you approach Devdarshini Point, the first views of Gangotri town and its surrounding forests appear—a heartwarming sight after days in the wilderness. Continue downhill until you reach Gangotri temple (3,065 m / 10,055 ft.), marking the end of your trek.
Evening can be spent exploring the local market, revisiting the Gangotri temple for darshan, or simply enjoying a hot meal and the comfort of a guesthouse after camping nights.
🍲 Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
🛏️ Stay: Guest House / Homestay (on a triple or quad sharing basis)
🔆 Highlights of the day:
💡 Tip: Start early morning from Gangotri (around 6:30 AM) to reach Dehradun by evening without delays.
After an early breakfast at Gangotri, begin your long but scenic drive back to Dehradun. The journey follows the Bhagirathi River down to Uttarkashi, passing through charming villages, forests, and valleys. On the way, enjoy the beauty of Harshil and Dharali, known for their apple orchards and serene landscapes.
Further down, you’ll pass Uttarkashi town, a hub for mountaineering and river rafting activities. Continue via Mussoorie, a popular hill station, before descending into the Doon Valley.
Arrive at Dehradun by evening, marking the end of your unforgettable Vasuki Tal trek.
Jolly Grant Airport is located approximately 25 kilometers from Dehradun, serving as the nearest airport. Daily flights are operating between Delhi and Dehradun, making it a convenient option for travelers.
Traveling by train is a comfortable and convenient way to reach Dehradun from Delhi. Here are two recommended overnight options:

• Shoes (worth Rs. 6,999)

1. Gear Built for the Mountains
Our high-performance tents and sleeping bags are engineered for extreme alpine conditions.
• Sleeping Bags: Designed to endure temperatures as low as -5°C to -20°C
• Tents: Provide additional insulation and wind protection for a warm, secure rest each night
We are always prepared for unpredictable mountain weather — and encourage trekkers to share any safety concerns with our team for quick support.
2. Health Monitoring: Daily Oxygen & Pulse Checks
Your well-being is our priority. For high-altitude treks, we conduct daily oxygen saturation and pulse monitoring (as needed) before and during the trek.
This proactive step helps us:
• Detect early signs of altitude sickness
• Make informed decisions for your safety
• Ensure every trekker remains fit and comfortable throughout the journey
3. Emergency Support & Medical Backup
Altitude affects everyone differently. Our guides are equipped with portable oxygen cylinders and essential first-aid medicines for immediate use in case of altitude-related symptoms.
Tip for trekkers: Stay physically prepared — activities like running, cycling, and swimming greatly improve endurance at high altitudes.
In case of emergencies or injuries, stretchers are available at all campsites, ensuring a safe and swift evacuation to base camp for further care.
Cell networks can be unreliable in the mountains. To bridge the gap, our camps and guides stay connected via a dedicated radio communication system, ensuring quick response in cases of bad weather, missing items, or medical needs.
4. Technical Support on Snowy Slopes
For treks involving snow-covered or technically challenging terrain, our trained technical team is deployed to assist. They ensure:
• Proper route safety
• Emergency handling
• Support in difficult sections like icy slopes or narrow ridgelines
With Trekkaro, you’re always in safe and experienced hands — so you can focus on what truly matters: the adventure of a lifetime.
