Embark on the Dayara Bugyal Trek with Trekkaro and experience a magical 4-day journey into the heart of the Himalayas. Starting from the peaceful village of Raithal in Uttarakhand, this trek introduces you to the charm of mountain culture while unveiling breathtaking alpine landscapes.
The trail winds through dense forests of oak, pine, and maple, with bursts of red Rhododendrons in season, before opening up to the wide, snow-clad meadows of Dayara. Raithal, a quaint Himalayan village in Uttarkashi, offers breathtaking views of snow-clad peaks and the warm hospitality of locals. On arrival, you’ll check into a comfortable guest house or homestay, where you can relax and prepare for the adventure ahead. Raithal is not just a base—it’s the perfect introduction to Himalayan culture and beauty.
🛍️ Local Tip: Raithal has a few small shops for basic trekking essentials, but it’s best to carry everything you need beforehand instead of relying on local availability.
🍲 Meals: Dinner included
🛏️ Stay: Guest House / Homestay (on a triple or quad sharing basis)
🔆 Highlights of the Day:
After breakfast at Raithal, we begin our trek towards the Gui campsite, a journey of around 5 km that takes 3 to 4 hours. The trail starts with a gradual ascent, winding through charming Himalayan villages before leading into dense forests of oak, pine, and rhododendron. The path is shaded and peaceful, filled with the fragrance of pine and the soft rustling of leaves, offering a perfect introduction to the serenity of the mountains.
As we climb higher, small clearings open up along the trail, rewarding trekkers with their first glimpses of the snow-capped Himalayan peaks in the distance. During spring and summer, the forest bursts with wildflowers and rhododendrons, while in winter, the trail often wears a sparkling coat of snow. The trek is moderately easy, making it an ideal start for beginners, while still being enjoyable for seasoned trekkers.
Reaching Gui (2,936 m / 9,630 ft) feels like stepping into a postcard-perfect Himalayan campsite. Surrounded by alpine meadows and backed by towering peaks, Gui offers one of the most picturesque overnight halts of the Dayara Bugyal trek. As evening falls, the snow-covered summits glow with shades of orange and gold under the setting sun, creating unforgettable views. After a warm meal, spend the night under a crystal-clear starlit sky, perfect for stargazing and photography.
This day not only gives you your first Himalayan camping experience but also prepares you for the higher altitudes to come.

🔆 Highlights of the day:
Today is the most rewarding and challenging day of the Dayara Bugyal Trek as we head towards the highest point – Dayara Top. After an early breakfast, we begin our trek at sunrise, walking past the beautiful meadows near Gui before entering a dense forest of golden oak, maple, and rhododendron. The initial stretch is a gradual climb, but soon, a steeper ascent for about half an hour towards Chilapada tests your stamina. The forest floor, often sprinkled with snow in winter, glows magically under the morning light, creating a dreamlike setting.
As we leave the forest behind, the trail opens up into the magnificent alpine meadows of Dayara Bugyal, one of the largest high-altitude pastures in India. In spring and summer, the meadows are covered in green grass and wildflowers, while in winter they transform into vast white carpets of snow. Walking through these rolling expanses feels surreal, with the mighty Garhwal Himalayas revealing themselves at every step. Peaks like Bakariya Top, Black Peak, Bandarpoonch, Mt. Srikanth, Draupadi ka Danda, and Mt. Jaunli dominate the horizon, their grandeur leaving you awe-inspired.
The final stretch to Dayara Top (3,749 m / 12,300 ft) is a steeper climb across undulating snowy slopes. The reward, however, is truly worth it – a 360-degree panoramic view of the Garhwal Himalayas. From the summit, endless snowfields merge with towering peaks, creating one of the most breathtaking Himalayan vistas. After spending some time at the top, soaking in the silence and beauty, we enjoy light refreshments before beginning our descent.
The return journey retraces our steps through the Bugyal and forest sections, gradually leading us back to the peaceful campsite at Gui. The descent takes less effort, but trekking through snow with a cold breeze adds an adventurous twist. By late evening, we reach Gui, where we rest after an exhilarating day filled with unforgettable sights.
🏕 Stay: Tent (3 trekkers per tent)
🍲 Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
🔆 Highlights of the day:
The final day of the Dayara Bugyal trek begins with a refreshing morning at Gui. After breakfast, we start our descent towards Raithal, retracing the familiar forest trail. The downhill path is much easier compared to the steep ascents of the previous days, passing through oak, maple, and rhododendron forests. Along the way, you’ll enjoy glimpses of terraced farms and the Garhwal Himalayas in the distance, while the cool mountain breeze adds to the experience.
Within 2–3 hours, we reach Raithal village, the base camp of the trek. Here, trekkers can take a short break, interact with locals, and soak in the rustic Himalayan charm before beginning the long drive back.
From Raithal, we embark on a 7–8 hour drive to Dehradun, covering 180 km through winding mountain roads, scenic valleys, and river crossings. The journey is filled with breathtaking views, making the return drive equally memorable. By evening, we reach Dehradun, marking the end of this incredible trek.

Our high-performance tents and sleeping bags are engineered for extreme alpine conditions.
• Sleeping Bags: Designed to endure temperatures as low as -5°C to -20°C

We are always prepared for unpredictable mountain weather — and encourage trekkers to share any safety concerns with our team for quick support.
2. Health Monitoring: Daily Oxygen & Pulse Checks
Your well-being is our priority. For high-altitude treks, we conduct daily oxygen saturation and pulse monitoring (as needed) before and during the trek.
This proactive step helps us:

3. Emergency Support & Medical Backup
Altitude affects everyone differently. Our guides are equipped with portable oxygen cylinders and essential first-aid medicines for immediate use in case of altitude-related symptoms.

In case of emergencies or injuries, stretchers are available at all campsites, ensuring a safe and swift evacuation to base camp for further care.
Cell networks can be unreliable in the mountains. To bridge the gap, our camps and guides stay connected via a dedicated radio communication system, ensuring quick response in cases of bad weather, missing items, or medical needs.
4. Technical Support on Snowy Slopes
For treks involving snow-covered or technically challenging terrain, our trained technical team is deployed to assist. They ensure:

You don’t need to be an athlete, but a basic level of fitness will enhance your trek. We’re here to help you choose the right trek and get prepared, physically and mentally. A little prep goes a long way toward making your trek enjoyable and safe.

At Trekkaro, we redefine the trekking experience with our Free Trekking Gear (FTG) initiative — a game-changer in the adventure travel industry. We equip our trekkers with top-tier trekking gear at zero additional cost, including premium Decathlon products like:
• Shoes (worth Rs. 6,999)
• Insulated Jackets (-10° C) (worth Rs. 3,299)
• Trekking Poles (worth Rs. 1,299)
This ensures every adventurer, whether first-time or experienced, can enjoy the mountains without the financial burden of buying expensive gear. It's trekking made accessible, safe, and seamless.
1. Gear Built for the Mountains
Our high-performance tents and sleeping bags are engineered for extreme alpine conditions.
• Sleeping Bags: Designed to endure temperatures as low as -5°C to -20°C
• Tents: Provide additional insulation and wind protection for a warm, secure rest each night
• Detect early signs of altitude sickness
• Make informed decisions for your safety
• Ensure every trekker remains fit and comfortable throughout the journey
3. Emergency Support & Medical Backup
Altitude affects everyone differently. Our guides are equipped with portable oxygen cylinders and essential first-aid medicines for immediate use in case of altitude-related symptoms.
Tip for trekkers: Stay physically prepared — activities like running, cycling, and swimming greatly improve endurance at high altitudes.
• Proper route safety
• Emergency handling
• Support in difficult sections like icy slopes or narrow ridgelines
With Trekkaro, you’re always in safe and experienced hands — so you can focus on what truly matters: the adventure of a lifetime.
A cab will be arranged from Dehradun Railway Station at 07:30 AM to Raithal, the base camp of the trek, at an additional cost of approximately Rs. 6,500 per vehicle (5–6 seater). This amount is shared among trekkers and needs to be paid directly to the driver.
A cab will be arranged from Raithal at around 01:00 PM to Dehradun Railway Station, with an expected arrival by 09:00 PM. The cost is approximately Rs. 6,500 per vehicle (5–6 seater), which will be shared among trekkers and paid directly to the driver.
Important Pre-Trek Information
Bhatwari is the final reliable point to withdraw cash before reaching Raithal (Basecamp). Make sure to withdraw enough money here, as ATMs may not be available or functional beyond this point.
Bhatwari is also the last place with stable mobile connectivity. It is about 1 hour before Raithal. Complete your important calls and inform your family about the limited connectivity ahead. Once you cross Bhatwari, mobile signals are weak to non-existent at Raithal and throughout the trek.
