Trek Itinerary

Day 1: Reach at Lohajung (7,600 ft.), 260 Km drive from Rishikesh; 260 Km, 10-11 hours

The drive from Rishikesh/Dehradun to Lohajung is an enchanting hill drive of 10-11 hours stretching over a 260 Km ride via Devprayag, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Gauchar, Karnaprayag, Tharali, and Dewal. Take a small halt at Devprayag for refreshments and make some memories with your camera as the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers meet at Devprayag and take the name Ganga or Ganges. Lohajung serves as the beginning point and the base camp for the Brahmatal trek. After reaching Lohajung, the stay will be in a Guest House/Camp/Homestay on a sharing basis. There are many local shops where you can buy basic things for trekking. if need be. However, it is advised that you carry all required things for the trek beforehand and not rely on any shop. We arrange shared taxis for trekkers from Dehradun Railway Station / Rishikesh (Jumping Heights, Tapovan) to Lohajung and drop you back from Lohajung.

Day 2: Lohajung (7,600 ft.) to Bekaltal (9,689 ft.); 5 Km, 4-5 hours

The first day of the trek starts from Lohajung to Bekaltal which takes about 4-5 hours. Get up early in the morning, have breakfast, and get ready to begin. Just beside Lohajung follow the ascending human-made stone trek. Along the way, you would encounter some startling views of the Nanda Ghunti Peak. The walk is mostly inside the jungle of conifer, Cedar, Oak, and Fir. Spot the Kali Valley as you climb higher and it is marked by the union of the Kali and Pindari rivers. Amidst thick oak forests, the lake gleams peacefully in summer, while in winter, it is frozen and the trail is pretty matte. Stay at Bekaltal will be organized in tents.

Day 3: Bekaltal (9,689 ft.) to Brahmatal (10,440 ft.); 7 Km, 5-6 hours

Today is the day to trek to Brahmatal Lake where Lord Brahma meditated many years ago. It takes about 5-6 hours to reach Brahmatal from Bekaltal Campsite. The trail starts steeply into the Oak and Rhododendron forest which leads to the meadow of Telandi top. In the winter, you will see the meadow of Telandi turn into a vast snowfield and cross the area, a gala of thrill. From here, it is a very gradual descent to Brahmatal. Enjoy some scintillating views of the mighty Himalayas from here and then proceed further to Brahmatal or Khabekhal Lake to be precise. After a great day, spend the night in camp.

Day 4: Brahmatal Lake (10,440 ft.) to Brahmatal Top(12,200 ft.) to Daldum Camp (9,350 ft.); 7 km, 6-7 hrs

Today is the most visually mesmerizing day of the entire Brahmatal trek. Get up comfortably by 07:00 AM, have breakfast, and get ready to climb to the top of Brahmatal. The trek to the top of Brahmatal requires around 2½ hours of steep climb. Along the way, it would be all ascents. We would pass through some treacherous trails at Chota Jhandidar and Bada Jhandidar. The trail goes through a mountain ridge with valleys on both sides and provides majestic views of Mt. Trishul and Nanda Ghunti. At the top, you would see a 180° view of exclusive snow-covered Himalayan Ranges. Mountains such as Chaukhambha, Mandi, Mana, Nilgiri, Neelkanth, Trishul, Nanda Ghunti, and Maiktoli become visible. This part of the trail is completely different from the entire trek. Trek to Daldum campsite.

Day 5: Daldum (9,350 ft.) to Lohajung (7,600 ft.); 3 Km, 2-3 hours

Today you would be leaving this pristine lap of Mother Nature. After having breakfast, start walking to Lohajung from Daldum followed by some steep descending trail. It takes 2-3 hours to trek down to Lohajung through thick oak and rhododendron forests once again. 

Cancellation requests are not taken over the phone.

We understand the frustration and disappointment that comes with having to cancel a trek or have it canceled. That's why TREKKARO has a trekker-friendly cancellation policy in place, designed to help minimize the impact of cancellations and provide a more flexible approach to planning your adventure.

To initiate a cancellation, all requests must be made in writing by the person who submitted the booking form or made the booking and sent to the company's contact via email, with a tax invoice copy at info@trekkaro.com.

This policy is effective from August 1st, 2024.

1. Cancellation 30 days before the start date of the trek: Get a refund with 30% cancellation charges of the trek fee.

2. Cancellation between 29 days and 15 days before the start date of the trek: Get a refund with 50% cancellation charges of the trek fee.

3. Cancellation within 14 days before the start date of the trek, or no show on the start day of the trek: Unfortunately, No refund or you can transfer your trek (same batch date & same trek) to your dear one OR apply for TREKCASH Voucher (Total fee paid) 14 days before your trek date which comes with 1-year validity.

4. If you used a voucher to register for a trek and now want to cancel, the cancellation policy applies. If there's a remaining balance after paying the cancellation charges, it will be credited back to your TREKKARO account. However, if the voucher's validity has expired at the time of cancellation, you won't be eligible for a refund, voucher extension, or any other compensation.

Note:

a. Change of trek batch date is dependent on the availability of seats in the batch.

b. In case of transferring a trek to your dear one, he/she should satisfy all the mandatory requirements laid down by Trekkaro.

c. Trekkaro holds the right to change/cancel the policies, without prior notice.

Once the trek has commenced, there will be no refunds or vouchers provided for unused portions or services for any reason. Any changes or early ending or departure from the trek will be at your own expense and liability.

If your trek leader sends you down from the trek, this may occur due to various reasons such as lack of fitness, failure to maintain a safe turn-around time, altitude sickness, blood pressure issues, or other health concerns, or if you are found drinking or smoking during the trek or breaking the rules of the trek. Additionally, you may also be sent down if you decide to quit the trek on your own due to personal reasons.

Refund Policy

The applicable refund amount will be processed within 10 working days.

If we have to cancel/suspend your trek before the date of departure or at the last moment due to natural calamity or unforeseen circumstances (continuous rain or snow, snowstorms, thunderstorms, floods, landslides, earthquakes, or any other natural calamity that prevents us from conducting a trek safely) or OR unexpected situations like political unrest, curfews, local riots, pandemics, lockdowns, government orders OR any other issues that affect the safety of the whole group, TREKKARO will issue a TrekCash Voucher for the total fee paid, redeemable within 1 year on any of our treks, with the requirement to pay any price difference for a higher-priced trek. The voucher will be generated within 10 working days and sent to your email address.

Note: In the instance of exchanging a TrekCash Voucher for your dear one, he/she ought to fulfill all the obligatory necessities set around Trekkaro.

By doing so, you're able to identify any potential issues and make necessary adjustments to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. This not only allows trekkers to be aware of their physical condition but also helps to mitigate any risks associated with high-altitude environments, where oxygen levels can be lower than usual.
• Oxygen cylinders and medical kit When it comes to high-altitude treks the body doesn't get enough oxygen: It’s not always that you cannot survive in high-altitude treks but for a safer side if your body is not adjusted to the environment, we are always ready with the oxygen cylinders. Our team member carries the portable oxygen cylinder and all the basic medicines on the trek. To prevent high altitude conditions - do more exercise, cycle, and swim. The more you practice it’ll easier for you.
• Stretchers on every campsite: Although we are physically and mentally ready for the environment there are chances of accidents or uncertain things. In those situations, we have stretchers at every campsite so, in an emergency, the porter will safely drop you at base camp where we can do further treatment.
• Radio (for communication between camps and guides): Our camps are located far apart, but they are connected through a radio network, which is essential for communication. While the network can be unstable in hilly areas, we can still rely on radios to stay in touch and seek help in emergencies, whether it's missing anything, bad weather, or medical assistance from the base.
• Technical team on all snowy slopes: We emphasize the importance of safety on all treks, taking a cautious approach whenever we encounter risky terrain or areas that require technical expertise. With a well-trained team that knows how to handle emergencies and care for trekkers, we provide a reassuring environment for trekkers to embark on their trek with confidence.
