Trek Itinerary

Day 1: Reach Raithal (7,400 ft.) from Dehradun; 180 Km, 7-8 hours

Reach Raithal, a 7-8 hours drive from Dehradun. The drive takes you through lovely forest stretches. At Raithal Village, we have our base camp for the Dayara Bugyal Trek which is a quaint village in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. Spend the night in a Guest House/Camp/Home Stay. The cab will be arranged at an additional cost from Dehradun Railway Station at 06:30 AM to Raithal. This will cost approx. Rs. 6,500/- one way per 5-6 seat vehicle. You will have to share this value with the other trekkers.

Day 2: Raithal (7,400 ft.) to Gui (9,630 ft.); 5 Km, 3-4 hours

Early morning after having breakfast, trek to Gui. Raithal is the starting point of the trek to Gui through dense oak forests, this trail is around 3-4 hours long, ascending gradually. The campsite in Gui is located in a small clearing surrounded by forests. Overnight stay at Gui amidst dense and rich forests.

Day 3: Gui (9,630 ft.) to Dayara Top (12,300 ft.) via Dayara Bugyal and back to Gui; 10 Km, 8-9 hours

We begin at the break of dawn, post a sumptuous morning meal. Today, we start our journey towards the highest point of the trek, i.e. Dayara Top. Crossing the thatch patches near Gui, we tread towards the forest patch layered with Golden Oaks and Maple trees. The trail is slightly more difficult than yesterday's, due to a steep half an hour ascent towards Chilapada.

The trail through the opaque forest patch is decorated with powdered snow uphill that leads towards the high grounds. A panoramic view of the Garhwal Himalayas presents itself to us as we reach near the last shieling or a 'Garhwali Chaani'. The snowy meadows of Dayara Bugyal make an appearance from here.

Wide grounds shimmering with silver-white snow can be seen in all their glory! Treading through these meadows, the panoramic view of prominent Garhwal Himalayas-Bakariya Top, Black Peak, Bandarpoonch, Mt. Srikanth, Draupadi ka Danda, Mt. Jaunli appear more alluring for their beauty and grandeur with each step forward.

The walk through the Bugyal gives way to a steeper, more upward snowy path leading to Dayara Top. Undulating, expansive snow grounds glitter with snow as far as the eye can see. The intriguing and magnanimous views from Dayara Bugyal all the way up to Dayara Top are indeed worth the climb.

We spend some time at the summit appreciating the spellbinding view from the top. Replenishing our energy with some snacks, we make our way back to the last shieling towards the snow section in the southwest, for the descent. A snow walk in a meadow with a whistling cold breeze for the next couple of hours at this elevation could prove to be a challenge, but is filled with adventure and an adrenaline rush is guaranteed.

After crossing back over the high meadows, we make our way to Nayata through oakwoods, with peeking views of Mt. Bandarpoonch and Gangotri in the background. A moderate descent from the lake, the 3 km trail is lined with maple trees and dry, sparse vegetation all the way to the campsite, offering stunning views of the sun setting over the mountains. We spend the remaining time at Gui and share our experiences in the company of stars before calling it a night. Overnight stay at Gui.

Day 4: Gui (9,630 ft.) to Raithal (7,400 ft.); 5 Km, 2-3 hours and drive to Dehradun; 180 Km, 7-8 hours

The day is easy. Start early after having breakfast, walking to Raithal from Chilpada followed by some steep descending trail. It takes 2-3 hours to trek down to Raithal through dense oak forests. The cab will be arranged at an additional cost from Raithal at around 01:00 PM to Dehradun Railway Station. Expected to reach Dehradun by 09:00 PM. This will cost approx. Additionally, tents provide extra warmth, ensuring trekkers have a cozy and safe shelter. Although we are prepared for the storm, you should let us know if anything concerns you regarding safety.
  • Daily oxygen saturation & pulse reading (if required in trek): Our team takes a proactive approach to ensure the health and well-being of trekkers by monitoring their oxygen saturation and pulse rates before embarking on the trek. By doing so, you're able to identify any potential issues and make necessary adjustments to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. This not only allows trekkers to be aware of their physical condition but also helps to mitigate any risks associated with high-altitude environments, where oxygen levels can be lower than usual.
  • Oxygen cylinders and medical kit When it comes to high-altitude treks the body doesn't get enough oxygen: It’s not always that you cannot survive in high-altitude treks but for a safer side if your body is not adjusted to the environment, we are always ready with the oxygen cylinders. Our team member carries the portable oxygen cylinder and all the basic medicines on the trek. To prevent high altitude conditions - do more exercise, cycle, and swim. The more you practice it’ll easier for you.
  • Stretchers on every campsite: Although we are physically and mentally ready for the environment there are chances of accidents or uncertain things. In those situations, we have stretchers at every campsite so, in an emergency, the porter will safely drop you at base camp where we can do further treatment.
  • Radio (for communication between camps and guides): Our camps are located far apart, but they are connected through a radio network, which is essential for communication. While the network can be unstable in hilly areas, we can still rely on radios to stay in touch and seek help in emergencies, whether it's missing anything, bad weather, or medical assistance from the base.
  • Technical team on all snowy slopes: We emphasize the importance of safety on all treks, taking a cautious approach whenever we encounter risky terrain or areas that require technical expertise. With a well-trained team that knows how to handle emergencies and care for trekkers, we provide a reassuring environment for trekkers to embark on their trek with confidence.

When you take an adventurous trek with TREKKARO, then be assured that whatever we do is more than your expectations. Our wish to excel goes beyond the point where your boots hit the trail – it begins the moment that you get in contact with us, and it never ends. There is nothing more satisfying than hearing from our trekkers that they’ve just had “another trip of a lifetime with Trekkaro”.

Your Expectations

  • Safety: This is a top priority of TREKKARO, and it is reassuring to know that we take it very seriously. It is no wonder that we have gained popularity in recent years by placing such an emphasis on ensuring the well-being of our clients. This emphasis on safety also builds trust and confidence with trekkers, allowing them to enjoy their experience to the fullest without worrying about potential risks.
  • Personalized Service, Care, and Attention to Detail For some organizations, this is, surprisingly, negotiable. But it isn’t for us. After safety, if we can do one thing right, every time, it’s to ensure that we sweat the small things.
  • The Best Guides If you are already trekking with us, then you’d be forgiven for thinking our guides are superhuman. It doesn’t mean a feat to entertain, cook, guide, and facilitate, but our guides, handle it with grace, and all the while the attention is on you.
  • The Best Itineraries It takes a lot of refinement to make a perfect trek, from dawn to dusk there are a lot of moving parts and the potential for things to go awry. For the last year, we’ve balanced on the tightrope of offering the right amount of activity, flexibility, and trek time. Whilst utilizing the best lodgings in the most unique places.
  • Value We’re not in the business of making money and providing you with nothing. Our treks aren’t expensive, they represent excellent value for money, and for those seeking to maximize their time, there is no better way.

Our Expectations

It may come as a surprise, but the reality is that it is a two-way street (or trail), and you are ultimately responsible for the nature of the experience that you have with us. And not only that, but you also influence the experience of others in your small group.

  • Attitude: It's clear that this vacation is designed as a transformational experience, and the attitude of the trekkers is key in creating the atmosphere. By adopting an open-minded, positive, and adaptable attitude, you are inviting yourself to fully immerse yourself in the experience and make the most of it. Accepting that challenges and discomforts are part of the journey is also reassuring, as it shows that you are prepared to face them.
  • Physical preparedness: Our treks are designed for everyday people. You don’t have to be an athlete, but to be fair to yourself and your group members, you do need to be ready. Worried about it? Do not stress it, our team is 100% dedicated to helping you pick the right trek, bring the right gear, and be physically and mentally prepared.
  • Know who’s in charge As we’ve mentioned, you rightly expect when you join our trek to be in good, safe hands. For us to ensure the entire group’s safety, we suppose you, as our guest, to listen to your lead guide. They are the expert when it comes to decisions made on the trek.

Just finished a trek to Dayara Bughel thru Trekkaro. I find them the most professional organisers in India. The food they serve in the camps is really an icing on the cake. The food served right thru the trek was wholesome, quite tasty and is fresh/hot. I suppose one can't find any other trek organisers as well entrenched in trekking as Trekkaro. Only suggestion for them to consider is for them to provide even western/commode type rest rooms at the camps which can help those active trekkers who have squatting/knee issues. This suggestion is made by many trekkers in our group and it is high time, the management accepts this suggestion, as other trekking organizers do provide such an option.

Rs. 6,500/- one way per 5-6 seat vehicle. You will have to share this value with the other trekkers.

This means that adventurers can now focus on their trek without worrying about the financial burden of acquiring the necessary equipment, making it more accessible and convenient for people to experience the thrill of trekking. Trekkaro's tents and sleeping bags are designed to withstand extreme cold temperatures, with sleeping bags capable of handling -5 to -20 degrees Celsius.
